From my understanding, there are different ways of doing faux opals, so this is my step-by-step process: STEP 1: Choose your clay color base and cut. I personally like to mix translucent clay (Fimo) with alcohol ink. You’ll need to tint resin in a later step, so this makes it easier. Up to you though. :) STEP 2 (OPTIONAL): Add mica powder to the surface and bake! This isn’t a must, but I like the extra sparkle.
