It is fascinating to hear these versions, and the quality of this material is just staggering. I place Grievous Angel as my favourite Gram release, and think some of his best songs are on this album.

With pedal steel player Danny Pendleton, Markus Cuff On Drums and Bruce Archer on Electric Guitar, they put together the Angel Band and started gigging around the clubs, playing some of the songs she’d performed with Gram.

Sep 19, 1973 · Apparently upon Gram's death Robert Parsons wanted to bury Gram in New Orleans (against Gram's wishes to be cremated and his ashes spread in Joshua Tree) so that he could establish a fraudulent claim of Gram's residency in Louisiana to give him a stronger claim on inheriting Gram's share of his grandfather's fortune.....but I digress...

It's not true as some have claimed that he was the the originator of country rock but Gram, The Flying Burrito Brothers and Emmylou made some of the most beautiful country rock of all time.
