It was the University of Florida's turn to take the stage at the 2025 SEC media days events for the 16-member schools' football programs. On Wednesday afternoon, redshirt center Jake Slaughter was among the representatives from the Florida Gators to speak with the press.

“We’re thankful to be partnering with Nike. Mr. Knight and his wife Penny have known them for years,” Freeze said during his SEC media day conference. “I’ve never worn sneakers with a suit before, but I felt like it was appropriate to celebrate our turnover and partnership with them that began July 1.”

Though there are no new schools, or even new coaches, entering the league in 2025, there's still plenty to look forward to. Few names will demand as much attention as Texas quarterback Arch Manning, who will travel with coach Steve Sarkisian to represent the Longhorns in Atlanta.
