The red flag warning remains in effect for all islands through Friday until 6 p.m. due to gusty winds and low humidity. “A dry and locally windy trade wind flow will produce critical fire weather conditions through at least Friday and possibly into Saturday. Winds will be strongest over and downwind of terrain,” according to the forecast.

A disturbance moving through the region from the northwest is steering in gusty winds and will help trigger thunderstorms for this evening and again for Friday. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Friday afternoon and evening.
