KPMG has been granted a license to practice law in the US by the Arizona Supreme Court in a first for a Big Four firm.

KPMG won approval from Arizona's Supreme Court on Thursday to launch a law firm in Arizona, making it the first of the Big Four accounting firms to be able to practice law in the United States.

Arizona’s Supreme Court gives the firm final clearance to set up a law practice, making KPMG the first Big Four accounting firm to do so anywhere in the U.S.

KPMG Law U.S., based in Arizona, will deliver legal services powered by artificial intelligence and KPMG Digital Gateway.

In a statement Thursday, the accounting firm said KPMG is "uniquely positioned to transform the delivery of legal services."

A top KPMG executive predicts US corporations will increasingly turn to accounting’s Big Four for legal work because they have better technology to handle matters including huge data sets and multiple contracts.
