Nearly two weeks after President Donald Trump and his administration announced they had nothing more to say about Jeffrey Epstein's criminal case, the topic continues to dog him, presenting a potential new political liability at the six-month mark of his presidency as Trump tries to sell more Americans on his accomplishments.

A former Jeffrey Epstein employee said that she told the F.B.I. in 1996 and 2006 about what she considered a troubling encounter with Donald J. Trump.

Trump and his administration recently faced scrutiny over their handling of Epstein’s sex abuse case after building up hype for the files’ release — only for the Department of Justice and FBI to say there was no evidence Epstein was murdered in jail, nor did he have a so-called “client list.”
