Earlier this offseason in July, the Green Bay Packers signed offensive tackle Zach Tom to a four-year extension worth $88 million (up to $92 million). Miller is now another offensive tackle earning more than $20 million per season. That's probably the starting point for negotiations between Cross and the Seahawks.

Charles Cross left training camp to have surgery in Los Angeles on a dislocated ring finger he practiced with through the first week of Seattle’s camp. Coach Mike Macdonald said following practice Thursday his four-year starter at left tackle should be back practicing by the end of August.

Seattle Seahawks left tackle Charles Cross will be sidelined for the next few weeks because of surgery for a dislocated right ring finger. However coach Mike Macdonald said Thursday that Cross is expected to be ready for the season opener.
