A 4-year-old boy who was found dead in Lorton, Virginia, more than 50 years ago, and whose name has remained a mystery, has finally been identified.

At the time his death was ruled a homicide due to blunt force trauma, but there were no leads on the case until now, police said.

Authorities identified Carl Matthew Bryant as the boy who was found dead by another child in Virginia in 1972.
