Canada faces steep 35% tariffs on almost 60% of its U.S. imports — if President Trump follows through tomorrow on his Aug. 1 deadline for imposing the extraordinary duty.

U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday increasing tariffs on Canadian goods to 35% from 25%, the White House said.

After Canada failed to strike a trade deal with Washington, the president raised tariffs on some Canadian exports this week.
