Leonard A. Lauder, who was known as much for his philanthropy and arts patronage as he was for his family’s beauty company, died Saturday at age 92.

The son of Estée and Joseph Lauder spent much of his life in Palm Beach, and helped to build and expand his parents' company.

Leonard A. Lauder, who helped build his Jewish family’s business into a cosmetic empire and a significant driver of philanthropy, Jewish and otherwise, died at his home in Manhattan on June 14 at the age of 92.
