Governor Greg Abbott provided a significant update on the ongoing flood recovery efforts in Kerr County and other parts of Texas.

More than 2,000 first responders and countless more volunteers continue to search for the missing in Kerr County nearly two weeks after the Guadalupe River rose.

After flash floods swept through central Texas in July 2025, people online searched for reasons why the disaster was so deadly.

At least 161 are still unaccounted for after the July Fourth floods that saw the waters of the Guadalupe rise to historic levels in Central Texas, officials with Kerr County said Friday. Authorities have confirmed 106 deaths, 36 of whom are children.
