Typhoon Kalmaegi leaves 114 dead, 127 missing in Philippines, many in province recovering from quake
Most of the deaths were reported in the central province of Cebu, which was pummeled by Kalmaegi on Tuesday, according to a local official.
A typhoon has killed at least 142 people and left another 127 missing after unleashing devastating floods across the Philippines, authorities said.
According to the Office of Civil Defense, nearly 2 million people have been impacted by the typhoon's devastation, with some 560,000 villagers currently displaced.View on euronews

DILG pledges food aid for Cebu after Typhoon Tino damage
Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla assured Cebu residents affected by Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi) that food aid will be provided following the cyclone’s devastation.

“While Typhoon Uwan has exited our landmass, it will continue to bring rains to Luzon, and our operations to help local government units and their constituents continue,” he said, adding that there was “still danger” in certain areas.
Political analysts say persistent natural disasters could sustain public frustrations and anti-government protests.
