The National League prevailed over the American League in the 2025 All-Star Game on Tuesday night, and for the first time ever the game -- tied after nine innings -- was decided by a Home Run Derby-style swing-off.

Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez was crowned 2024 Home Run Derby champion after defeating Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. in the finals. Hernandez slugged 14 homers in the final round, one more than Witt, to become the first Dodgers player to win the Derby title.
Brent Rooker and Cal Raleigh were tied with 17 home runs each, and MLB’s tiebreaker was who hit the longest. Rooker’s longest of 470.53 feet was just short of Raleigh’s longest of 470.61.
