The Green Bay Packers selected wide receiver Matthew Golden with their first-round pick on April 24. They have two total picks in rounds 2 and 3 on April 25: Day 2 of the draft also features guests announcing picks for each team. A number of former University of Wisconsin football players will announce for their current or former teams.

Detroit Lions President Rod Walker threw shade at Green Bay earlier this week, saying the city had no chance of coming close to its 750,000 attendance record last year. That record is probably safe with Detroit. But Green Bay, with its population of 100,000, sure came to play.

Fans were amazed and appreciative that the NFL's smallest city could host one of the league's biggest events, the NFL draft, and their mood was brightened ever more when the hometown Packers selected a wide receiver in the first round on Thursday.
