Xavier is over .500 in Big East play for the first time this season after beating DePaul Saturday afternoon at Cintas Center.

Facing a Butler offense that shot 55% from the field, 49.2% from 3-point range and averaged 87.6 points per game over its three-game winning streak, Xavier held the Bulldogs to just 43.6% from the field. Butler buried just 6-of-23 tries from beyond the arc.

Zach Freemantle and Ryan Conwell scored 14 points apiece to help Xavier shoot its way past Butler 76-63 on Tuesday in Cincinnati. Xavier blew the game open in the middle of the first half with a 24-2 stretch over a six-minute span.

Not quite a vintage #ZipEmUp performance, but a 22-2 run in the first half doesn’t happen without the body bags close at hand.
