Uber will roll out 20,000 self-driving Lucid Gravity SUVs from 2025 in a $300m investment deal, signalling a major push into autonomous ride-hailing in the US and beyond.

Uber has announced a multi-million dollar partnership with U.S. electric vehicle maker Lucid and robotics company Nuro. The three companies plan to deploy at least 20,000 robotaxis "in dozens of markets around the world" over the next six years, starting in a major U.S. city in 2026.

Baidu is the latest addition to Uber's growing list of autonomous vehicle partners, which includes Waymo, Volkswagen, May Mobility, and Pony AI.
