There is a good chance that Apple's first product announcement of 2025 will be updated 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models with the M4 chip.

A new MacBook Air with M4 could come onto the market as early as January or February. Apple is reportedly planning an earlier release than last year.

The odd little 13-inch MacBook Pro was refreshed with the M2 chip, but it became the only MacBook to retain the old design. In late 2023, Apple finally phased that out with its M3 MacBook Pro release in favor of a more affordable 14-inch MacBook Pro — the first in that design to feature a base M-series chip.

2025 promises to be quite a big year for Apple, with the company rumored to be planning more than 20 product announcements this year.
