The Golden Knights landed Reilly Smith, who won the Stanley Cup with Vegas in '23, from the Rangers in exchange for prospect Brendan Brisson and a third-rounder.

The banged up New Jersey Devils wasted no time filling an area of need ahead of the NHL trade deadline, the defending champion Florida Panthers made an under-the-radar move that could pave the way for another deep playoff run and the Vegas Golden Knights brought back a member of their recent Stanley Cup-winning team.

The 33-year-old winger, one of the original Misfits, has played the fifth-most games and scored the third-most goals in franchise history.

Reilly Smith was traded back to Vegas by the Rangers on Thursday in exchange for Brendan Brisson and a third-round draft pick in 2025 and said he felt right at home when taking the ice with the Golden Knights.

Following last season's trade deadline, where the Vegas Golden Knights scooped up two of the top players on the market, Tomas Hertl and Noah Hanifin, at the 11th hour, there was an expectation they were going to make some noise once again.
