The offseason coaching carousel continues, and another name/coaching opportunity is officially off the board. On Tuesday it was announced the Cleveland Browns would be promoting passing game specialist and tight ends coach Tommy Rees to offensive coordinator.
New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak appears to be “in the driver’s seat” for Seattle’s opening, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Kubiak has also drawn interest from the Cleveland Browns, but the Seahawks are hosting him for a second in-person interview on Friday.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald is going through the process of appointing a new offensive coordinator after relieving Ryan Grubb of his duties. Thus far, Macdonald has identified, at least publicly, three candidates. They are Hank Fraley (Lions OL coach), Klint Kubiak (Saints OC), and Thomas Brown (Bears interim HC).

Macdonald fired Ryan Grubb last week. The move came one day after the former University of Washington offensive coordinator finished his only season as Seattle’s OC. The Seahawks missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season, the first time that’s happened since the 2008-’09 seasons.
