Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford unveiled his party’s platform ahead of the Feb. 27 election, and says Donald Trump’s looming tariffs mean deficits are here to stay.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford said in claiming a third-straight victory for his Progressive Conservatives in the province's election Thursday he'd been given a "mandate" to "stand up" to President Trump's threats to hit Canada with tariffs.

Ford announced retaliatory plans shortly after Trump implemented tariffs against Canada.

Doug Ford, premier of the Canadian province Ontario, has warned President Donald Trump that "we will be relentless" unless Trump "removes the threat of tariffs for good." Newsweek reached out for comment to the White House via email on Thursday night.
