A dozen people stood outside the Mesa County Justice Center in sub-freezing temperatures Thursday to show their support for a Grand Junction TV news reporter who according to law enforcement was physically attacked outside KKCO 11 News last month.

The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) and local law enforcement will be conducting their first surge operation of 2025 for the Grand Valley.Starting on January 17th, CSP troopers and officers with the Grand Junction Police Department and Fruita Police Department will patrol Highway 6 and North Avenue.

Seventeen of the 76 deaths in the state stemmed from tuberculosis, making it the most common cause of death. Seven suffered from pneumonia. Three drowned.

Chaplain services are available for Veterans at the VA Western Colorado Health Care System. Chaplains are trained specialists in spiritual and religious care, providing treatment for veterans and their families.
