Athletics first baseman Nick Kurtz made history on Friday night as the first rookie to ever hit four home runs in an MLB game.

A four-game sweep at the hands of the last-place A’s at Daikin Park highlighted a depleted lineup and saw another starting pitcher join baseball’s longest injured list.

Kurtz became the first rookie in MLB history to hit four homers in a single game.
