Here's how the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was deported to his home country of El Salvador despite a court order barring his deportation there, has progressed.

The government claims he’s a member of the MS-13 gang, which his wife and attorney deny, and deported him to El Salvador despite a judge’s 2019 order barring him from being sent there.

Illinois state agencies have been ordered to review investments and contracts with business linked to El Salvador, Gov. J.B. Pritzker said.
