The mislabeling of allergens is a leading cause of food recalls in the U.S., and can have serious or life-threatening implications for those with allergies.

Tomatoes sold in 14 states have been recalled over concerns of possible contamination with the bacteria salmonella. Two different companies have issued recalls after distributing the potentially contaminated tomatoes, which they obtained from the same supplier, Hanshaw & Capling Farms, or H&C Farms, in Immokalee, Florida.

Williams Farms Repack LLC brands of tomatoes have been recalled across several states. Indiana-based Ray & Mascari Inc. recalled 4 Count Vine Ripe Tomatoes packaged in clam shell containers that were sold through Gordon Food Service Stores.
