Football fans around the country are counting down the hours until Round 1 of the 2025 NFL draft begins. On Wednesday, general manager Terry Fontenot met with the media to discuss the state of the franchise ahead of the draft. Naturally, Fontneot fielded questions about Kirk Cousins.

The Saints have over $27 million in cap space and as glaring of a need under center as any team in the league. The fourth-rounder included in this trade is the best pick the Falcons can reasonably expect to get in a Cousins trade. Intra-division trades may be rare, but they aren’t unheard of.
