Full Nets injury report for Sunday's matchup at the Knicks
The Brooklyn Nets have been having a whirlwind of a week as they went from being on a seven-game losing streak to winning their first game of the season to suffering another blowout loss. Brooklyn is hoping that they can recover from Friday's 125-107 NBA Cup loss to the Detroit Pistons and the good news is that their injury report hasn't changed.
Good luck billing this as a rivalry. For the 11th straight time, the Knicks dragged their little-brother neighbors to the woodshed. They walked into Sunday’s borough-to-borough matchup with a top-five NBA offense and a three-game home winning streak — and walked out with yet another rout over a Nets team that entered the night with eight times as many losses as wins.
NEW YORK — On any other night, Sunday's Knicks-Nets showdown at Madison Square Garden would've been a triumph for the home team, winning 110-97. Julius Randle had a team-high 22 points and 15 rebounds and dominated the second half as the Knicks pulled away.
But while the Nets stumbled to a 32-50 record, the Knicks surged to 50-32, with Bridges’ former Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Donte DiVincenzo leading the way — and clowning him from across the East River.
The Nets have also ruled out rookies Nolan Traore, Ben Saraf and Danny Wolf as they are on assignment in the G League while Haywood Highsmith remains sidelined due to recovery from right knee surgery. On the other side, the Knicks enter Sunday’s matchup with a clean injury report as they have nobody listed on it.
Claxton (quadriceps) is in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Knicks, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports. Claxton was listed as probable leading up to tipoff, and the team has since confirmed his availability. The big man is averaging 13.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2.0 blocks over his last five appearances.
