Gov. Greg Abbott was in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, meeting with President Donald Trump to discuss border security. The meeting served as both an attempt to recoup money the state has spent securing the border and an offer of resources to an administration that has pledged to crack down.

AUSTIN, Texas — In a series of executive orders Wednesday, Gov. Greg Abbott ordered state agencies to cooperate with President Donald Trump’s mass deportation efforts and directed the state’s criminal justice agency to identify land and facilities that could be used for detaining and deporting undocumented migrants.

Abbott is set to meet with Trump at the White House on Wednesday. On social media, Abbott said "the coming days should be great for Texas."
