BEIJING, March 31 (Reuters) - China on Tuesday welcomed a visit by a delegation of European Union lawmakers - the first in eight years - as a chance to further stabilise ties strained by trade policies and political mistrust.
The last KMT leader to visit China was then-chair Hung Hsiu-chu in 2016. The previous year, then-President Ma Ying-jeou made history as the first Taiwanese head of state to meet with Xi when they held talks in Singapore.
