Less than 72 hours after walking off the mound of Charles Schwab Field at the College World Series in Omaha, lefty Zach Root will get a shot at redemption against the UCLA Bruins.Root has been announced as the starter for Tuesday night’s elimination game.

The Arkansas baseball team is scheduled to play UCLA in an elimination game Tuesday night at the College World Series.

The Razorbacks (49-14) will send left-hander Zach Root (8-6, 3.82 ERA) to the mound against the Bruins (48-17) in an elimination game scheduled for 6 p.m. at Omaha’s Charles Schwab Field.

After starting the postseason 6-0, the Bruins find themselves one loss away from going home after dropping to LSU.

Jared Jones hit a go-ahead three-run homer before rain suspended play Monday night, freshman reliever Casan Evans pitched 4 1/3 shutout innings after play resumed Tuesday, and LSU advanced to its College World Series bracket final with a 9-5 victory over UCLA.
