MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Typhoon Fung-wong blew out of the northwestern Philippines on Monday after setting off floods and landslides, knocking out power to entire provinces, killing at least eight people and displacing more than 1.4 million others.

Typhoon Kalmaegi killed at least 188 people across the Philippines and caused untold damage to infrastructure and farmland across the archipelago. The storm then destroyed homes and uprooted trees after landing in central Vietnam late on Thursday.

According to the Office of Civil Defense, nearly 2 million people have been impacted by the typhoon's devastation, with some 560,000 villagers currently displaced.View on euronews
