Here's the latest on wildfires burning around Oregon. A fire broke out the evening of July 27 east of Rome in southeastern Oregon and has rapidly grown to 10,000 acres, according to the National Interagency Fire Center.

Thunderstorms lit the night skies across Southern Oregon on Tuesday night, with nearly 2,000 lightning strikes throughout Klamath and Lake counties.

The National Weather Service has kept a red flag warning in effect for all Hawaiian islands through 6 p.m. today, citing gusty tradewinds, low humidity and dry fuels that could create dangerous fire conditions.
