California Gov. Gavin Newsom said Democrats’ sweeping election victory on Tuesday, including the approval of a redistricting ballot measure in his state, “represents a new moment” for the Democratic Party as it debates its path forward.

In terms of cash, the Barack Obama supported Prop 50 saw the state race screaming money.

California voters gave Democrats — and possibly Gov. Gavin Newsom — a major win Tuesday by passing a plan that could help give them five House seats in 2026.

With their overwhelming approval of Proposition 50, California voters signaled their clear and unmistakable disdain for President Donald Trump and the Republican Party.
