Uber is investing hundreds of millions of dollars into EV maker Lucid and autonomous vehicle technology startup Nuro in a bid to launch its own premium robotaxi service.

Uber announced a new partnership today with luxury electric vehicle maker Lucid and the robotics company Nuro.

The fresh capital and commitment to buy tens of thousands of vehicles provides relief for Lucid after a tumultuous few years that saw it rack up almost $6bn in net losses during 2023 and 2024.
