The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department served a search warrant in Marina del Rey to follow up on leads stemming from the deadly explosion that killed three deputies.

Authorities are refuting claims made by a construction company executive who posted social media videos alleging that squatters are taking over burned-out homes and vacant lots following the January wildfires.

Video showed a high-tech bomb robot being used at the scene. Bomb squad technicians rigged up ropes on a pulley system to open a garage door.

Authorities are now focusing on a Santa Monica apartment where ordnances had been recovered a day before the fatal explosion

The police presence comes a day after a boat docked nearby was under investigation – authorities were looking to see if that boat was in any way linked to last week's explosion in East Los Angeles that killed three members of LASD.

Two former deputies have pleaded or have agreed to plead guilty Monday after abusing their police power to serve their off-duty clients.
