Organizers estimate more than 1,000 protesters gathered along a state highway north of downtown Coeur d’Alene, Idaho—a city of 43,000 residents nestled in the hills of the state’s northern panhandle.

Across the country, relatively few disruptions were reported during protests and marches where the mood ranged from joyful to defiant.
