Detroit thunder rolled across the Circuit de la Sarthe as Cadillac won its first Le Mans pole, a feat last accomplished by a Detroit carmaker in 1967.

For the first time since 1967, an American automaker has qualified on the pole position for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. And for the first time in its history, it's Cadillac.

Cadillac Racing has sought to present a unified front across its four cars from three teams and two championships – both the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
