Kazakhstan to join Abraham Accords as it signs critical minerals and trade deals with the US
US President Donald Trump held an Oval Office call with Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, expanding the Abraham Accords to include the central Asian nation.
Kazakhstan will join the Abraham Accords between Israel and Muslim majority countries, a largely symbolic move that boosts the initiative that was a hallmark of President Donald Trump's first administration.
The central Asian country, which has had relations with Israel for decades, has long sought the repeal of a Cold War-era law restricting its trade with the U.S.
U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff said that a new country would be announced on Thursday night as entering the Abraham Accords that have normalized relations between Israel and Muslim-majority nations.
I'm flying back to Washington tonight because we're going to announce tonight, another country coming into the Abraham Accords,' says Steve Witkoff - Anadolu Ajansı
