By Nelson Bocanegra BOGOTA (Reuters) -Colombian Senator Miguel Uribe remains in a critical condition after being shot in Bogota on Saturday, but has shown signs of neurological improvement, the hospital treating him said on Wednesday.

Colombian Sen. Miguel Uribe Turbay, a conservative presidential hopeful, was in serious condition Sunday following surgery for a gunshot wound at a political rally a day earlier, Bogota’s mayor said.

The brazen attack, captured on video, recalled the political violence of past decades. The senator arrived at a hospital in critical condition.
